How much UIF do you pay for your helper?
1% comes off your helper's pay, you add 1% of your own, and you pay the 2% to UIF each month.
How it works
- UIF applies once your helper works more than 24 hours a month for you.
- Contributions are 1% + 1% of gross pay, up to R17,712.00 a month - so at most R177.12 each.
- Register as a domestic employer and declare and pay through uFiling (ufiling.labour.gov.za) by the 7th of the next month.
